Confluence- An exhibit of mixed art & thought

Tea Ceremony

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and 70 years of India-Japan relations, an event was successfully organized titled "Indian x Japanese Tea Ceremony" at the VCC Auditorium, Embassy of India, Japan. H.E. Sanjay Kumar Verma, Ambassador of India to Japan, gave the opening remarks. This was followed by discussions on tea.

Prof. Sobin Koizumi, a tea master of the Ura-Senke tradition gave an historic account of the cult and explained the process of tea making leaving the viewers mesmerised. Ms Bela Chandrani, an Indian tea connoisseur with over 44 years of experience explained the how every region in the country produces a different variety of tea and the various teas every region can grow. Celebrating Azadi ke Amrit Mahotsav and 70th of India Japan relations Madam Gunjan Verma and MME Hiroko Nagahama are exhibiting their masterpieces. The artists have called their exhibition Confluence, the merger of India and Japanese philosophies and art. Visiting this exhibition can be the right way to spend your day if you love art and have interests in eastern philosophy. See you there
